Learning Points: The most popular level for beginning students ages 6 and up, this is the student’s first exposure to Greek grammar through a simple, proven method. Level 1 teaches students the alphabet, how to formulate words into sentences, how to recognize objects in everyday life, and how to develop their first short conversations. It will also help them build toward building reading and comprehension fluency.
The Story: Meet Niko and Eleni, the heroes of Γεια Χαρά!, and their family – Anna, Manolis, and their grandparents. These characters take learners on an exciting journey of knowledge, introducing them to the Greek language and culture through fun conversations, stories, and activities.
Don’t forget cuddly Rita, mischievous Pi, and loyal Scot. They too have a part to play in the fun – and the learning!
Practice: There is thorough practice of all skills – Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking – in each unit, with plenty of exercises for practice. Students receive the necessary tools to excel at level 1 and continue their progress toward certification and fluency.
Student’s & Activity Books: Students Book contains 25 lessons, and 5 review sections. A myriad of exercises and activities can be found for each lesson in the Activity Book, as well as a special cultural sections with plays, poems, readings and activities.
